Veterans Benefits
You may be entitled to Veteran’s benefits (VA benefits) if you are:
A Veteran * A Veteran’s dependent * A surviving spouse, child or parent of a deceased VA * An active duty military member * A member of the Reserve or National Guard.
Many Veterans do not realize they are entitled to a wide range of VA benefits from the United States government. These benefits may include health care, life insurance, vocational rehabilitation and employment assistance, disability compensation and more. Surviving spouses, children, and parents are also potentially eligible for a wide range of Veteran’s benefits. These may include a death pension, burial benefit allowances, education and training, home loan guaranty, and other benefits.
Many of these benefits which belong to over 25 million Veterans go unclaimed. For example, low income Veterans, who are 65 or older and served during the war (in combat or not) and their surviving spouses may be eligible for pensions. Yet only approximately 30% of eligible Veterans and 15% of their surviving spouses collect this pension they are entitled to.
